Why the Ceasefire Matters

Iran agreed to ensure safe shipping through the Strait of Hormuz for 2 weeks. This route is critical for global trade and fertiliser raw material supply.

India is the second-largest fertiliser consumer in the world, and it imports a large portion of raw materials and finished products from the Middle East. Any disruption in this route can increase costs and affect supply.
