IndiGo Airlines confirmed to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) that it has achieved operational stability and will not cancel any flights post February 10, 2026, as per news reports.
This assurance follows disturbances in December 2025 linked to crew shortages and high duty utilisation.
During a review meeting on January 19, 2026, IndiGo highlighted improved crew availability and system compliance as key factors in regaining operational control.
The disruptions reported in December 2025 were triggered by reduced roster buffers and maximum crew duty utilisation, impacting the implementation of revised Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) regulations.
The DGCA had enforced enhanced oversight, requiring IndiGo to provide daily updates on flight delays and cancellations, as well as weekly and fortnightly reports on manpower parameters and operational systems.
IndiGo submitted detailed updates addressing parameters such as pilot training schedules, attrition rates, pending certifications, and current versus required crew strength across Airbus, ATR and wet-leased aircraft.
By February 10, 2026, the airline confirmed it would have 2,400 Airbus commanders against a requirement of 2,280, and 2,240 first officers against a requirement of 2,050.
Additional support was ensured through the withdrawal of two temporary exemptions to duty time norms, granted on December 6, 2025. These have since been phased out as per the regulatory guidelines.

The DGCA has indicated it will continue close monitoring of IndiGo’s operational performance. Focus remains on crew roster integrity, buffer capacity, and adherence to the FDTL framework. Weekly review meetings will continue between the regulator and the airline to maintain oversight.
As of January 21, 2026, at 9:35 AM, InterGlobe Aviation share price on NSE was trading at ₹4,855.00 up by 1.36% from the previous closing price.
IndiGo has responded to regulatory directives with detailed compliance measures and improved pilot availability. With these actions in place, the airline assured that no flight cancellations will occur beyond February 10, 2026, based on current operations and planning.
