
Defence stocks traded higher during the morning session on July 6, 2026, after the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) approved procurement proposals worth about ₹52,000 crore.
The approvals span acquisitions for the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force, with a focus on strengthening air defence, anti-drone capabilities, surveillance systems, and unmanned warfare platforms.
The procurement approvals supported buying interest across listed defence companies.
As of July 6, 2026, at 11:04 AM, Paras Defence share price was trading at ₹1,360.00 each, up 5.10%. Zen Technologies share price gained 4.73% to ₹1,829.30 each, Data Patterns share price advanced 2.11% to ₹4,602.30 each, Bharat Electronics (BEL) share price rose 1.57% to ₹424.60 each, while Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) share price increased 0.86% to ₹4,466.90 each. IdeaForge also traded higher during the session following the announcement.
For the Indian Army, the DAC approved the procurement of the AKASH TARANG Anti-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) Electronic Warfare System, Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM) Systems, Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) Weapon System, Very Short-Range Air Defence System (V-SHORADS), Active Protection System for Tanks, and the Jet-Based Kamikaze Drone System.
For the Indian Navy, approvals were granted for the procurement of the Multi Influence Ground Mine (MIGM), Naval Shipborne Unmanned Aerial System (NSUAS), and the establishment of a Land Based Testing Facility (LBTF) for Electric Propulsion Systems, supporting the Navy's modernisation initiatives.
For the Indian Air Force, the council approved the acquisition of a Fixed-Wing Based High Altitude Pseudo Satellite (FW-HAPS) along with other proposals. According to the Ministry of Defence, the FW-HAPS platform is expected to provide persistent intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), telecommunications, and remote sensing capabilities, enhancing the operational reach and endurance of the Air Force.
