India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has partnered with Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL) to allow members of its loyalty programme, IndiGo BluChip, to earn reward points on duty-free purchases made at airports operated by the Adani Group.
Under the collaboration, travellers can earn five BluChips for every ₹100 spent on duty-free products that are pre-booked through the Adani platform. Customers will be able to browse, reserve and pay for duty-free items online before departure and collect them at the airport, integrating airline loyalty benefits with airport retail.
The initiative aims to enhance the passenger experience while expanding the utility of IndiGo’s loyalty ecosystem beyond flight bookings.
As part of the partnership, BluChip members will be able to link their loyalty ID through a dedicated portal on the Adani platform. Once purchases are completed, reward points will be credited to members’ accounts within 24–48 hours.
Neetan Chopra, Chief Digital and Information Officer at IndiGo, said the collaboration extends the value proposition of the airline’s loyalty programme.
According to Chopra, integrating airport retail with the BluChip ecosystem allows travellers to benefit from everyday travel spending, not just flight purchases.
The move also reflects a broader shift within the aviation sector, where airlines are increasingly using loyalty programmes to build deeper engagement with passengers across the entire travel journey.
For AAHL, the partnership supports its strategy to strengthen digital retail services at its airports. The platform enables travellers to discover products online, pre-order duty-free items and collect them conveniently at departure terminals.
Suchit Bansal, Chief Executive Officer – Non Aero at AAHL, said the collaboration combines digital discovery, pre-order services and in-airport collection to simplify airport shopping for travellers.
Duty-free stores participating in the programme are currently available at airports in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Jaipur, Mangaluru and Lucknow, all operated by AAHL.
The companies plan to extend the service to additional locations, including Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati and the Navi Mumbai International Airport.
The partnership brings together two major players in India’s aviation ecosystem. IndiGo operates more than 2,000 daily flights, connecting over 140 destinations globally, including more than 95 domestic and 40 international routes.
AAHL currently manages eight airports across India: Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Jaipur, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and Navi Mumbai, collectively serving hundreds of millions of passengers each year.

The collaboration between IndiGo and Adani Airports highlights how airlines and airport operators are increasingly integrating digital retail and loyalty programmes to enhance passenger engagement. By allowing travellers to earn BluChip rewards on duty-free purchases, the partnership aims to create a more connected travel experience while unlocking new revenue opportunities within airport retail.
