The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has informed its members that claim settlements and service requests may take longer than usual following the completion of a major database consolidation and software upgrade. While core member and employer services have been restored in phases, the organisation said the post-migration stabilisation process will continue over the next two weeks, during which additional verification checks will be carried out to ensure data accuracy.
The temporary slowdown comes as EPFO upgrades its digital infrastructure to improve service delivery and enhance the overall experience for both members and employers.
According to the EPFO, the recent technology upgrade involved the migration and consolidation of its databases, requiring extensive validation of member records after services were restored.
As a result, claims and service requests will be processed in a phased manner over the next fortnight. The organisation said the additional verification measures are intended to maintain the accuracy and integrity of member data following the migration.
EPFO has also advised members and employers not to submit multiple requests or repeatedly access online services during peak hours, as doing so could place additional load on the system and further slow processing.
While EPFO's digital services are currently unavailable on the UMANG app due to the scheduled migration activities, members can continue to access most services through the EPFO Member Portal, which is fully operational.
Members who need to file an EPF claim can log in using their Universal Account Number (UAN) and password. Under the Online Services section, they can select the relevant claim form, verify their bank account details, upload supporting documents if required, and complete the submission after authentication.
EPFO has indicated that services on the UMANG platform are expected to resume once the migration process is fully completed.

The temporary delay in EPFO claim processing is part of a broader technology upgrade aimed at strengthening the organisation's digital infrastructure. Although members may experience slower claim settlements over the next two weeks, the changes are expected to improve service reliability in the long run. Until the migration is fully stabilised, members are advised to use the EPFO Member Portal for their transactions and avoid making repeated requests that could further delay processing.
