8th Pay Commission Extends Data Submission Deadline to July 31, 2026

The 8th Pay Commission (8th CPC) has extended the deadline for submitting data through its official Data Collection Portal to July 31, 2026, giving Ministries, Departments and Union Territories (UTs) additional time to complete the process. The move comes after several government bodies requested more time, citing difficulties in meeting the earlier deadline.
The data collection exercise is a key step in the Commission's review of salary, allowances and pension structures for central government employees and pensioners.
Deadline Extended Following Requests from Ministries
In an official communication addressed to nodal officers of Ministries, Departments and Union Territories, the 8th Pay Commission directed all concerned authorities to upload the required information through the designated Data Collection Portal by the revised deadline of July 31.
The Commission said the extension was granted after multiple government departments informed it that they were unable to complete the data submission process within the original timeline.
However, it made it clear that submissions sent through physical copies, emails, Excel sheets, PDF files or any mode other than the online portal will not be accepted. Authorities have been instructed to use only the designated portal for submitting the required information.
Data Collection to Shape Pay Commission Recommendations
The ongoing data collection exercise forms an important part of the 8th Pay Commission's consultations before it finalises its recommendations on pay revision, allowances and pension benefits for central government employees and pensioners.
The Commission is currently gathering inputs from various stakeholders across the country to assess existing pay structures, service conditions and related issues. Based on these consultations and data analysis, it is expected to prepare its final recommendations, which are likely to be submitted by mid-2027.
Bhubaneswar Consultation Scheduled for July 6-7
Separately, the 8th Pay Commission will visit Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on July 6 and 7 as part of its nationwide stakeholder consultation programme.
According to a notice issued by the Ministry of Finance, central government organisations, institutions, employee associations and unions interested in interacting with the Commission during its Bhubaneswar visit have been invited to seek appointments through the online application process.

Conclusion
The extension of the data submission deadline to July 31 provides Ministries and Departments with additional time to complete a crucial step in the 8th Pay Commission's review process. As consultations continue across the country, central government employees and pensioners will closely track the Commission's progress, with its recommendations expected to play a significant role in shaping future pay, allowance and pension revisions.
