Nestle share price is likely to remain in focus after the FMCG major announced a special dividend of ₹2 per equity share for its shareholders. The announcement came after the company's Board of Directors approved the special payout at its meeting held on July 3, 2026.
The dividend will be paid in the demat account for shareholders from the company's retained earnings. It will be distributed alongside the final dividend for FY26, subject to shareholder approval at the company's 67th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Nestlé India declared a special dividend 2026 of ₹2 per equity share with a face value of Re. 1 each. The dividend will be paid on the company's entire issued, subscribed, and paid-up equity share capital of 1,92,83,14,320 equity shares.
The special dividend will be funded from the company's retained earnings. As of March 31, 2026, Nestlé India's retained earnings stood at ₹5,107.07 crore.
The company stated that the special dividend will be paid from the balance amount reclassified to retained earnings under the Scheme of Arrangement approved by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). After issuing 1:1 bonus shares in August 2025, the remaining ₹741.01 crore from the reclassified reserve will be used for the special dividend.
Nestlé India has fixed July 10, 2026, as the record date to determine eligible shareholders for the special dividend.
The company said the special dividend will be paid on or after July 30, 2026, along with the final dividend for FY26, provided shareholders approve the proposal at the AGM scheduled for July 3, 2026.
Shareholders whose names appear in the Register of Members or the records maintained by depositories as of the record date will be eligible to receive the dividend.
The announcement of a special dividend highlights Nestlé India's strong cash position and continued focus on returning surplus capital to shareholders. Such payouts are generally viewed positively by investors as they reflect healthy retained earnings and robust financial strength.
