Industry Impact
As per the news reports, Several other real-money gaming firms have also announced job cuts. Head Digital Works, which operates A23 Rummy, let go of nearly 500 employees, over two-thirds of its staff. Mobile Premier League is reducing its team by 60-80% of its 500-600 employees. Zupee said affected employees will be paid for the notice period and given additional financial support based on years of service. In some cases, this may extend up to six months. Health insurance coverage will remain valid for the full term even after employees exit.
The company has also set up a ₹1 crore medical support fund for departing staff. A team has been tasked with coordinating with industry stakeholders to help those affected find new roles. Employees who are leaving will get first preference for re-hiring when vacancies open.

Founded in 2018, Zupee has 150 million registered users and is known for games like Ludo, Snakes and Ladders, and Carrom. Following the ban on money-based gaming, the company will focus on social games and entertainment.
