Stock Market Holiday for Dusshehra and Gandhi Jayanti: Are BSE and NSE Open Today on Oct 2, 2025?

Equity investors will have to wait a day before resuming trades, as the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) are shut on Thursday, October 2, 2025. The closure has been declared to mark the twin observances of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra, both falling on the same day this year.
Trading Suspended Across Markets
The suspension is not limited to equity shares. The currency market, call money market, and commodity market (MCX) are also closed today. Market activity across these segments will resume on Friday, October 3, 2025.

The exact schedule for this session will be communicated by NSE and BSE closer to the date.
