Rolls-Royce Launches its Largest Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru

As per the news reports, British aerospace and defence giant Rolls-Royce has officially launched its largest global capability and innovation centre (GCC) in Bengaluru, marking a major investment in India’s growing aerospace ecosystem.
The facility, located at Manyata Embassy Business Park, was inaugurated on Wednesday by Industries & Infrastructure Minister MB Patil, who highlighted how Karnataka’s talent pool would now directly contribute to the company’s worldwide operations.
Karnataka’s Growing Aerospace Hub
During the launch, Minister MB Patil emphasised that the new centre demonstrates Karnataka’s strength as India’s premier hub for aerospace, defence, and advanced engineering. He noted that the Bengaluru team would be powering Rolls-Royce’s global businesses, reflecting the state’s global relevance. Bengaluru is already recognised as one of the world’s top three aerospace cities for attracting foreign investments.
The state is home to companies across the aerospace value chain, including Aequs and Collins Aerospace in propulsion systems, Wipro and Mahindra Aerospace in structural components, Boeing, Airbus and Pixxel in specialised technologies, and Sarla with Tata Advanced Systems in end-to-end manufacturing.
Policy Support And Ecosystem Strength
Patil also underlined Karnataka’s forward-looking aerospace and defence policies, which provide attractive incentives for investors. The state’s strong ecosystem—where research institutions, international firms, and home-grown startups collaborate—has made it a leader in advanced technology development.
He pointed out that the government has consistently backed the sector through infrastructure improvements and ease-of-doing-business measures, ensuring Karnataka remains a trusted partner for global companies. “Our government is committed to being a trusted partner in building technologies of global relevance,” Patil added.
Global Presence At The Launch
The event was attended by Lindy Cameron, British High Commissioner to India, and Helen McCabe, Global Chief Financial Officer of Rolls-Royce, reflecting the international importance of the centre. Their presence underscored how the Bengaluru expansion forms part of Rolls-Royce’s wider global strategy, while also strengthening bilateral industrial cooperation between India and the UK.
