Dividends are one of the most awaited events for shareholders. Every year, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), one of India’s most valuable companies, rewards its investors by declaring dividends after the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
While the announcement generates excitement, the key questions remain: Who will get the dividend? and When will it actually be paid?
Reliance fixed Thursday, August 14, 2025 as the record date. Shareholders whose names appeared on the company’s register by this date are eligible for the dividend.
The company informed stock exchanges that its 48th Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, with dividend payment on the agenda.
If approved at the AGM, the dividend will be credited within a week after August 29, 2025. This means eligible investors can expect their payout in the first week of September 2025.
The record date is the cut-off date set by a company to determine which shareholders are eligible to receive the declared dividend.
To qualify, your name must appear in the company’s register of members which is based on holdings in your demat account as of the record date.
If you bought Reliance shares after the record date, you will not be entitled to the upcoming dividend, even if the shares are in your demat account by the time the dividend is paid.
