Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited (NSE: RELIANCE), has entered the fast-growing functional beverage segment by acquiring a majority stake in a joint venture with Naturedge Beverages Private Limited.
This move strengthens RCPL’s ambition of becoming a Total Beverage Company, catering to evolving consumer preferences.
The functional beverage space in India has seen rapid growth as consumers increasingly shift toward natural, herbal, and sugar-free options. With the inclusion of Naturedge’s flagship brand “Shunya”, RCPL gains an entry point into this market.
Shunya offers zero-sugar, zero-calorie drinks infused with powerful Indian herbs like Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Khus, Kokum, and Green Tea, aligning with the wellness trend.
Founded in 2018 by Siddhesh Sharma of the Baidyanath Group, Naturedge Beverages combines traditional Ayurvedic wisdom with modern consumer demand. This heritage-driven innovation provides RCPL with a competitive edge as it integrates Shunya into its existing product mix.
Since its inception in 2022, RCPL has aggressively expanded its beverage offerings with acquisitions like Campa Cola, launches such as Campa Energy and Raskik, and now Shunya.
The partnership opens avenues for expanding into categories like energy drinks, herbal-infused waters, energy shots, and still beverages, further positioning RCPL as a holistic beverage provider.
