Nandini Dairy Products Cuts Price as New GST Rates Take Effect

The GST Council announced on September 3, 2025, that tax rates on several consumer essentials, including ghee, paneer, cheese, ice cream, and chocolates, would be revised. The changes came into effect on September 22, 2025. Following the notification, the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) updated the prices of its ‘Nandini’ milk products.
Price Changes in Nandini Products
As per KMF’s revised list, a 1-litre pouch of ghee is now ₹610 compared to the earlier ₹650. A 500 gm pack of unsalted butter has been reduced from ₹305 to ₹286. Paneer, earlier priced at ₹425 per kg, is now ₹408.
The price of Goodlife milk (1 litre) has been lowered from ₹70 to ₹68. A 1 kg pack of processed cheese is now ₹497, reduced from ₹530. Mozzarella diced cheese (1 kg) is available at ₹450, down from ₹480.

Other Dairy Brands’ Revisions
Amul has also announced cuts across more than 700 product packs, including butter, ghee, paneer, cheese, ice creams, chocolates, bakery items, and spreads. However, prices of pouch and packaged milk remain unchanged since milk was not under GST earlier.
Mother Dairy has reduced prices as well, with cuts ranging between ₹2 and ₹30 depending on the product. This covers toned milk, paneer, butter, ghee, cheese, and other items. Packet milk has seen a reduction of ₹1-2, depending on the type.
