Inox Solar, a subsidiary of Inox Clean Energy under the INOXGFL Group, has officially commenced operations at its advanced solar module manufacturing facility located in Bavla, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This marks the completion of the first phase of its 3 GW project, showcasing India’s shift towards energy independence with cutting edge solar solutions.

Inox Solar Commences 1.2 GW Manufacturing at Bavla

On September 22, 2025, Inox Solar began production at its Bavla facility with a capacity of 1.2 GW. The plant is fully automated and utilises state-of-the-art technology to produce high-efficiency N-type TOPCon solar modules. These modules incorporate M10, G12R, and G12 solar cells, offering reduced degradation and enhanced reliability. Additionally, the modules are bifacial, generating power from both sides and significantly increasing the Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF).

Strategic Expansion Plans to Drive India's Renewable Goals

The Bavla facility, which is currently operational at 1.2 GW, will be scaled up to 3 GW in its second phase. The rapid execution of the first phase in just 4 months signals Inox Solar's aggressive and strategic scaling approach in the solar manufacturing space. Alongside this, the company is also undertaking a major integrated solar module and cell unit of 4.8 GW in Dhenkanal, Odisha. This plant will bolster the domestic solar supply chain and reduce India's reliance on imports.

INOXGFL Group’s Vision for the Solar Ecosystem

Inox Clean Energy, the parent company of Inox Solar, aims to consolidate its leadership in the renewable sector. By integrating power generation and manufacturing arms under Inox Neo Energies and Inox Solar, respectively, the group is positioned to capitalise on the current shortfall in domestic solar cell production. These expansions are crucial for meeting India’s renewable energy targets and positioning the country as a global hub in clean energy solutions.

Conclusion

With the launch of its 1.2 GW facility and plans to expand further, Inox Solar has strengthened its role in India’s solar manufacturing landscape. The upcoming facilities reflect the firm’s long-term strategic priorities aligned with national energy goals and global sustainability standards.
