Banks across India will remain closed on February 28, 2026 (fourth Saturday) and March 1, 2026 (Sunday) due to regular weekend holidays. These closures apply to both public and private sector banks, including the State Bank of India.

As per the official holiday calendar issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), there are a total of 9 bank holidays in February 2026. This includes the second Saturday, the fourth Saturday and all Sundays.

Banks remain open on the first, third and fifth Saturdays unless there is a specific regional or public holiday.

What Services Will Be Available?

Even on bank holidays, customers can continue using online banking and mobile banking services unless banks notify otherwise for technical reasons. ATMs will remain operational for cash withdrawals, and digital payment platforms like UPI and banking apps will function as usual.

However, transactions involving cheques and promissory notes will not be processed on holidays, as the RBI’s holiday calendar is declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
