Apollo Hospitals has set up a new facility in Swargate, Pune, making it its 3rd hospital in Maharashtra. Pune’s growing population, along with its shift into a larger education and technology base, has increased the need for organised medical care. The filing suggests that the new centre adds to the city’s available hospital beds and specialist treatment capacity.
As per news reports, the hospital will start functioning with 250 beds, and the capacity is to reach 400 beds once all services are fully operational. Apollo Hospitals Group Chairman Prathap C Reddy said the project aligns with the government’s “Heal in India – Heal by India” plan, which focuses on building treatment capacity within the country instead of relying on patients travelling abroad.
Group CEO and President Madhu Sasidhar said the Pune facility has been organised around a fixed set of clinical systems. These systems are based on standardised medical processes, safety rules, and outcome tracking, which are intended to be applied across departments to keep treatment steps uniform.
The hospital will offer various speciality services, including cardiac sciences, transplants, orthopaedics, oncology, and mother-and-child care. The facility has modular operating rooms and robotic surgery equipment such as Da Vinci Xi and Mako. Cancer-related services include digital PET-CT scans and LINAC radiotherapy, used for planning and treatment in oncology.
More than 100 beds are reserved for critical care, along with dedicated neonatal and paediatric intensive care units. Monitoring and follow-up care will include the use of IoT-based systems, telemedicine, and app-linked services, making digital tools part of routine patient management.
Managing Director Suneeta Reddy said the Pune hospital functions as part of Apollo’s larger treatment network. Executive Vice Chairperson Preetha Reddy said the centre will work with clinical teams in Pune while using digital records and shared medical practices already operating in other Apollo hospitals.
As of November 25, 2025, 11:20 am, Apollo Hospitals share price was trading at ₹7,384.50, a 0.41% increase from the previous closing price.
