As per news reports from Jargran Josh, around 10,000 people were allotted homes under PM Awas Yojana in Ghaziabad. Many of them have been waiting for possession for nearly two years. Now, there is some positive news: about 3,000 allottees are likely to receive the keys to their homes in the next three months.
Under PM Awas Yojana, private developers were given the responsibility of constructing flats. However, the construction of many projects remained incomplete due to delays and slow progress by developers.
Out of the total 10,000 allotted units, construction for more than 3,000 flats has now been completed. The remaining units are still under construction and will take more time to finish.
Although the flats of 3,000 allottees are ready, the surrounding infrastructure was still unfinished. To ensure that possession can be handed over, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has started completing this incomplete work.
The GDA is using the shelter fee collected earlier from the builders to carry out these tasks. This fund is now being used to speed up essential services so that allottees can move into their homes without further delay.
The allottees who wish to take possession must deposit their pending instalments in full. Only after completing the payment process and completing the registry will they receive the keys to their homes.
The authority has urged all allottees to pay their dues on time so that the possession process can move ahead smoothly.

The upcoming handover of 3,000 PM Awas units in Ghaziabad marks a significant step forward for thousands of families who have been waiting for their homes. With GDA taking charge of incomplete infrastructure work and using shelter fee funds to finish essential services, possession is now becoming a reality for many. Allottees who settle their instalments and complete the required paperwork will soon be able to move into their long-awaited homes. As the remaining units progress, more families are expected to benefit from the scheme in the coming months.
