Indian Startup Funding at $164 Million Across 16 Deals; Bengaluru Records Highest Activity

Indian startups raised $164 million across 16 funding deals during the week ended July 25, according to data compiled by Entrackr.
The total included four growth-stage and 12 early-stage transactions. The week also recorded one undisclosed deal, one founder exit, two new fund launches and one ESOP announcement.
Funding was lower than the previous week, when 19 startups had raised around $271 million, a 40% decline on a week-on-week basis.
Early-Stage Deals Account for Most Transactions
Early-stage startups contributed 12 of the 16 deals, raising a combined $44 million. Quick commerce startup Plazza led the segment with a $15 million Series A round backed by Accel, Elevation Capital and Nexus Venture Partners.
CARPL.ai secured $10 million in a Series A round led by the International Finance Corporation, while travel-tech startup 30 Sundays raised $6.7 million through a pre-Series A funding round.
Growth-Stage Funding Concentrated in Three Deals
Growth-stage companies raised $120 million across four deals. The largest transactions were reported by Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group, Veriqus and BusinessNext, with each company securing $40 million.
By funding stage, Series A and Seed rounds accounted for four deals each, followed by three Series B transactions. Funding activity was also recorded in pre-seed, pre-Series A, debt and Series C rounds.
Bengaluru Tops the Weekly Deal Count
Bengaluru remained the busiest startup market with eight funding deals, followed by Mumbai with five. Delhi-NCRrecorded two transactions, while Hyderabad accounted for one.
Fintech startups led the weekly funding activity, with investments also reported in healthtech, deeptech, AI, SaaS, energy and quick commerce.
Other Developments During the Week
Outside fundraising, Ankur Jain, founder of B9 Beverages, stepped down from the company's board and executive role after reaching a settlement with lenders and investors. Transition VC announced a $150 million fund, while Streptrade Capital launched a $10.5 million fund.
During the week, Flipkart announced plans to enter food delivery, Ashneer Grover launched employer-backed lending platform Fund My Staff, and Bijliride expanded its Project Udaan student mobility programme.
Conclusion
While overall funding declined week-on-week, deal activity continued across India's startup ecosystem. Early-stage funding dominated the week, supported by investments in fintech, deeptech, AI and quick commerce.
