India and Israel have formalised a fresh understanding to reinforce defence collaboration days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi begins his 2-day visit to Israel on February 25.
The Memorandum of Understanding was facilitated by the International Defence Cooperation Directorate under the Israel Ministry of Defense. The agreement aims to strengthen joint defence initiatives, including structured seminars and collaborative industrial programmes.
SIBAT, in coordination with Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers and Ministry of Defence, organised a strategic seminar and business-to-business meetings between defence firms from both countries.
The event brought together representatives from 30 Indian and 26 Israeli defence companies. It was led by SIBAT Director Brig. Gen. (Res.) Yair Kulas and focused on India’s defence industrial ecosystem and its updated Defense Acquisition Procedure 2026.
The Indian delegation was headed by Ramesh K, Director General of SIDM, and included J P Singh and Gp Capt. Vijay Patil, Defence Attache of India to Israel.
Both sides reaffirmed their intent to advance bilateral dialogue and continue cooperation between defence industries that have collaborated during critical periods.
The initiative aligns with the broader strategic vision of IMOD Director General Maj Gen (Res.) Amir Baram to expand Israel’s defence exports and reinforce partnerships with key countries.
The engagement follows the Joint Working Group meeting held in November last year, during which a landmark agreement was signed to boost defence, industrial and technological collaboration.
That framework supports advanced technology sharing and promotes co-development and co-production initiatives
