The Company was incorporated on June 16, 2000, in the name of Omi Conveyor Beltings Limited. Subsequently, the company name was changed to Somi Conveyor Beltings Limited (SCBL) w.e.f. October 31, 2000. Mr. Om Prakash Bhansali, Mr. Vimal Bhansali, and Mr.Gaurav Bhansali were promoted the company. The Company was markets its products under the brand name of 'SOMIFLEX'. The company has engaged in the business of manufacturing of Rubber Conveyor Belts. The company's unit is located at RIICO, Sangaria Industrial Area, District Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The company has commenced its commercial production in February 2002 with an initial capacity of 36,000 running meters of conveyor belts per annum, which was gradually increased to 72,000 meters per annum. Over the years, the capacity of the unit has increased to 1,67,660 meters. The company has setting up a new unit for manufacturing of rubber conveyor beltings, with an installed capacity of 1,72,080 running meters per annum at Village Tanawara, Tehsil Luni, Dist. Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The new unit will enable company to manufacture Rubber Conveyor Belts of a width ranging from 1400mm to 2000mm instead of the 1200mm manufactured in the existing plant.
