Incorporated on 29th July, 1985 as a public limited company Apollo Finvest (India) Ltd formerly knwon as Apollo Mercantiles Limited and obtained Certificate of Commencement of Business 10th December, 1985. The Company was engaged in trading and agency business in 'Telecom' and Telecom related products and then diversified its business to Financial Services. Subsequently, the name of the Company was changed to the present one, promoted by Ramesh R. Innani. Company presently engaged in a comprehensive range of activities like, Marketing of Telecom Products and pipes to companies like Birla 3M Ltd., Arvind Mills, Zenith Ltd. etc., Providing Leasing and Hire Purchase Finance on flexible terms, Merchant Banking activities like mobilisation of funds, extending underwriting support etc., bills discounting and money market operations, Investment in debt and equity instruments and portfolio management and dealing in OTC Exchange of India. Board of Directors of the Company has taken a policy decision to invest the funds of the Company in Fixed Income bearing securities such as Preference Shares yeilding Tax Free Dividend, units of Birla Mutual Fund and Secured Loans to financially sound parties. Company also working out policy to reduce over a period of time, its high exposure in Long Term Investment of Equity Shares except blue chip companies, so to move the funds towards Fixed Income Bearing Securities.
