Olectra Greentech Limited has informed the stock exchanges about a development in its dispute with M.L.R. Motors Limited. The Arbitral Tribunal, constituted pursuant to an order of the High Court of Telangana dated November 22, 2024, has delivered its award on March 2, 2026. The company received the award on March 6, 2026.

The arbitration proceedings were initiated in connection with a financial dispute involving a capital advance provided by Olectra Greentech to M.L.R. Motors Limited.

Tribunal Rejects Recovery Claim

According to the award, the Arbitral Tribunal disallowed Olectra Greentech’s claim seeking recovery of a capital advance amounting to ₹10 crore. The amount had earlier been provided to M.L.R. Motors Limited and was subsequently converted into equity shares of the respondent company.

As part of the ruling, the tribunal also directed Olectra Greentech to reimburse ₹5,00,000 towards arbitration costs and legal expenses incurred by M.L.R. Motors Limited during the proceedings.

Background of the Dispute

The dispute originated from the financial arrangement between the two companies, where Olectra Greentech had extended a capital advance to M.L.R. Motors Limited. The amount was later converted into equity shares, which became a key point of contention in the arbitration.

The arbitration process was conducted under the direction of the High Court of Telangana, which had earlier ordered the constitution of the tribunal to resolve the matter between the parties.

Company Reviewing Further Legal Options

Olectra Greentech stated that it is currently reviewing the detailed arbitration order to understand the reasoning behind the tribunal’s decision. Based on this evaluation, the company will consider possible next steps.

These actions may include filing an appeal or challenging the arbitration award before the appropriate judicial authority if deemed necessary.
