Premier Energies Share Price in Focus; Unit Enters Binding Term Sheet for JV with RCT Energy India

Premier Energies is moving beyond solar manufacturing with plans for a battery energy storage system manufacturing venture in Telangana, as per the exchange filing. The company has signed a binding term sheet with RCT India, part of Germany's RCT Group, to establish the proposed joint venture.
The planned facility will have a total capacity of 12 GWh, with the initial phase set at 6 GWh. Premier Energies will develop the project through its subsidiary, Premier Battery Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Telangana Facility to Serve Multiple Markets
The proposed plant is intended to supply battery storage systems for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications. The partners also want the facility to serve customers outside India, making exports part of the manufacturing plan from the outset.
The partnership brings together Premier Energies' manufacturing capabilities and RCT's experience in energy projects, engineering and international supply chains. The companies intend to develop BESS solutions for Indian and overseas markets.
Premier Energies Expands Beyond Solar
For Premier Energies, the proposed venture adds battery storage to its clean energy portfolio. The company said the growing use of renewable power is increasing the need for storage that can help manage intermittency and support reliable electricity supply.
Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director of Premier Energies, said the partnership gives the company access to the growing energy-storage market. He said the aim is to manufacture BESS products in India for both domestic and international customers.
RCT To Bring Global BESS Experience
Sukumar Reddy Madugula, Managing Director of RCT India, said the company will contribute its global expertise, engineering capabilities and execution experience to the Indian BESS sector.
RCT's group has more than 10 GW of experience in setting up BESS-related projects worldwide.
