Nifty 50 Rises 1.47% on Aug 18: Hero MotoCorp, Maruti, Bajaj Finance & More Lead Rally

On Monday, August 18, 2025, the Indian benchmark index Nifty 50 opened at 24,938.20 and was at 24,992.35, up by 1.47%, as of 10:09 AM. As of the same time, it touched the day’s high so far at 25,022.00 and day’s low at 24,884.30.

Out of the 50 Nifty stocks, 42 advanced, 8 declined, and none remained unchanged.

5 Nifty 50 Top Gainers

The top 5 gainers on the Nifty 50 stocks are, Hero MotoCorpMaruti SuzukiNestle IndiaBajaj Finance and Bajaj Auto. These stocks were trading up 7.42%, 7.34%, 6.48%, 6.16% and 4.64%, respectively.

5 Nifty 50 Top Losers

The top 5 losers on the Nifty 50 stocks are, Larsen & ToubroSun PharmaITCHCL Tech and ONGC. These stocks were trading down by 0.89%, 0.37%, 0.23%, 0.18% and 0.16%, respectively.

Sectoral Performance: Nifty Auto Leads

As of 10:10 AM, Nifty Auto, Nifty Financial Services Ex-Bank and Nifty Consumer Durables were trading in the green, up by 4.49%, 3.17% and 3%, respectively. None of the sectoral indices were trading in the red.

Conclusion 

Despite Nifty 50 trading in the red, broader market indices like Nifty Next 50 and sectoral indices such as PSU Bank and FMCG showed resilience. Select stocks and sectors are driving market momentum amid mixed cues.
