Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) Limited announced the launch of its all-new NU_IQ platform, a modular and multi energy architecture that will underpin its next generation range of SUVs.
Alongside the platform, the company showcased 4 upcoming SUV concepts, Vision.S, Vision.T, Vision.SXT, and Vision.X , which mark the start of its new design and product strategy. Following the announcement, M&M’s share price rose over 4% in early trade.
The NU_IQ Platform: A New Strategic Blueprint
The NU_IQ platform is designed to provide flexibility across different SUV body styles and multiple powertrains. Mahindra emphasised that the platform reflects its intent to resolve the common compromises faced by consumers while staying true to its SUV DNA i.e, performance, presence, and safety.
R Velusamy, President, Automotive Business (Designate) at Mahindra & Mahindra, described the NU_IQ as a “strategic blueprint for the future,” allowing the company to innovate globally while strengthening its core product offerings.
Design Philosophy and Creative Direction
The 4 concept SUVs are based on Mahindra’s evolving HEARTCORE design philosophy, developed collaboratively at the Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS) in Mumbai and Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) in Banbury, UK.
Production Timeline and Global Plans
Mahindra confirmed that these SUVs will enter production in 2027. While the Indian market will remain a primary focus, the company also plans to expand its premium SUV presence in global markets, including left hand drive regions.
This move underlines Mahindra’s ambition to build a stronger international footprint while continuing to grow domestically.
