The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract worth ₹2,095.70 crore with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) for the supply of INVAR Anti-Tank Missiles. The agreement falls under the ‘Buy (Indian)’ category.
It was signed in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh at South Block, New Delhi, on November 13, 2025. Senior representatives from both the Ministry and BDL were present.
The deal covers the procurement of INVAR Anti-Tank Missiles, which are to be fired from T-90 tanks. The contract aims to meet the Indian Army’s operational requirements. The procurement is part of the government’s plans to build locally produced defence systems and use domestic resources for military needs.
The INVAR is a laser-guided anti-tank missile. It is capable of engaging enemy tanks and armoured targets at long ranges with a high degree of accuracy. The missile is designed to boost the effectiveness of T-90 tanks, which are a key part of the Indian Army’s armoured fleet. The system has been developed for use in mechanised warfare and provides improved strike capability.
Bharat Dynamics Limited, a Defence Public Sector Undertaking, will be responsible for manufacturing and supplying the missiles. The company has previously produced similar weapon systems for the Indian Armed Forces. The production will take place within India, in line with existing policies that encourage domestic manufacturing in the defence sector.
The agreement supports the Indian Army’s requirement for reliable, locally made weapon systems. It also aligns with the Ministry of Defence’s procurement framework, which gives preference to Indian industries for strategic defence projects.
