Larsen & Toubro Ltd’s (L&T) Buildings & Factories (B&F) vertical has won significant engineering and construction contracts from both central and state government bodies, reinforcing its leadership in India’s infrastructure space.
One of the major orders has been awarded by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) for the construction of Common Central Secretariat buildings 6 & 7 in New Delhi. These buildings, designed with a configuration of 1 basement + 2 podiums + upper ground + 6 floors, will serve as critical administrative hubs.
L&T’s scope of work includes engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) responsibilities, which cover civil structures, interior finishes, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) services, and external development. Additionally, the company will handle operation and maintenance of the facilities for five years after completion.
L&T has also bagged a design and construction order from the Government of Andhra Pradesh for building the State Legislative Assembly. The structure will consist of one basement, a ground floor, and three upper floors. This project is a significant step in the development of Amaravati’s civic infrastructure.
Both projects are expected to be completed within an ambitious timeline of 18 months, underscoring L&T’s project execution capabilities. These orders fall under the 'Large' project classification, indicating a value between ₹2,500 crore and ₹5,000 crore.
