Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced a 20% bonus and ex-gratia payment for 'C' and 'D' category employees in all state public sector undertakings (PSUs). The announcement comes as part of a broader welfare initiative that includes healthcare, education, and infrastructure support targeted at underserved communities across the state.
On October 6, 2025, CM Stalin announced a 20% bonus and ex-gratia for around 3,000 'C' and 'D' category employees of state PSUs. This includes additional pension support under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.
The pension for retired temple workers has been hiked from ₹4,000 to ₹5,000, and family pensions have been raised from ₹2,000 to ₹2,500. For the first time, EPF pensioners will also get an ex-gratia pension benefit. Cheques were distributed among 12 representatives covering a total of 3,037 pensioners and 769 family pensioners.
To improve medical services among tribal populations, the CM flagged off 25 emergency ambulances worth ₹5.78 crore and 20 mobile medical vehicles costing ₹4 crore. These are set to serve isolated rural areas with better emergency and regular healthcare access.

CM Stalin unveiled 26 vehicles, 23 purchased at ₹3.62 crore and 3 donated via CSR funds for use in tribal hostels and schools. He also inaugurated 772 new houses in Sri Lankan Tamil rehabilitation camps costing ₹44.48 crore, with basic amenities developed at ₹6.58 crore across multiple districts, including Virudhunagar and Thoothukudi.
Under the Health and Family Welfare Department, the CM inaugurated new hospital blocks worth ₹108.50 crore, drug warehouses costing ₹42 crore, and various buildings related to food analysis and drug control in Chennai, Madurai, and Kanchipuram. Academic buildings at Madurai and Vellore law colleges were also inaugurated, developed for ₹48.20 crore and ₹6.46 crore, respectively.
Additional welfare measures included 20 Social Justice Hostels worth ₹137.31 crore, 250 tribal houses through the Tholkudi Scheme at ₹12.72 crore, educational buildings in 39 Adi Dravidar Welfare Schools worth ₹39.29 crore, 16 Village Knowledge Centres for ₹15.93 crore, and 9 multipurpose centres worth ₹5.40 crore.
This comprehensive set of initiatives by CM Stalin not only benefits PSU employees but also extends Tamil Nadu’s commitment to uplift tribal communities and improve healthcare and education infrastructure throughout the state.
