Indian Railways has announced that its Unreserved Ticketing System, known as the UTS mobile app, will cease operations from March 1, 2026.

The Centre for Railway Information Systems confirmed that all functionalities of the app will now be integrated into the RailOne platform.

Transition to RailOne and Service Integration

The UTS app was primarily used for booking unreserved tickets, local train tickets and platform tickets. With its discontinuation, passengers will need to shift to the RailOne app to continue accessing these services.

RailOne, launched on July 1, 2025, by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw during the 40th Foundation Day of CRIS in New Delhi, is designed as a consolidated passenger interface. The application is available on both Android and iOS platforms and brings together multiple railway services within a single interface.

The app supports login via mPIN or biometric authentication and allows users to access services using existing RailConnect and UTS credentials.

In addition to unreserved ticketing through R-Wallet with a 3% discount, RailOne offers live train tracking, grievance redressal, e-catering, porter booking and last-mile taxi services. Reserved ticket booking will continue through IRCTC, although RailOne is authorised by IRCTC.

R-Wallet Transfer and Refund Process

Passengers with balances in their UTS R-Wallet will see those funds transferred to RailOne. However, users must register on RailOne using the same mobile number linked to their UTS account. The wallet balance cannot be transferred to a different number.

Users who wish to close their wallet can opt to surrender it through the app’s profile section. A confirmation code will be sent to the registered mobile number, after which the user must visit a UTS counter to complete the refund process. The refunded amount will be credited after deducting a clerkage charge of ₹30.

Conclusion

With the discontinuation of the UTS app, Indian Railways is consolidating its digital services under the RailOne platform. The move centralises ticketing and passenger services within a single application, requiring users to transition before March 1, 2026 to maintain uninterrupted access.
