India's July 2026 Outward FDI Rises 17% to $5.70 Billion

India's outward FDI increased to $5.70 billion in July 2026, according to provisional data from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), as per The Economic Times news report.
Equity Commitments Rise in July 2026
Equity commitments by Indian companies to businesses outside the country increased to $2.01 billion in July 2026.
This was much higher than the $776 million recorded in June 2026. However, it was close to the $2.07 billion recorded in July last year.
Loans to Overseas Companies Double
Loans given to overseas subsidiaries also increased during the month.
Indian companies provided $876 million in loans in July 2026, compared with $433 million a year earlier. Several Indian companies made large equity investments outside India during July.
Quest Global Engineering Solutions had the biggest equity outflow at $664 million. It was followed by Aster DM Healthcare, which invested $140 million, and Natco Pharma, with an outflow of $108 million.
ONGC Videsh Makes Biggest Loan Transfer
On the loan side, ONGC Videsh made the biggest transfer during the month. It transferred $407 million to its subsidiary in Singapore.
Quest Global also issued a $684 million guarantee to its Singapore subsidiary during July.
RBI Data Is Provisional
The RBI said the July 2026 figures are provisional and can change later.
The final numbers will depend on the reports received from banks. Outward FDI commitments include equity investments, loans and guarantees, and all three increased during July.
