Equity Commitments Rise in July 2026

Equity commitments by Indian companies to businesses outside the country increased to $2.01 billion in July 2026.

This was much higher than the $776 million recorded in June 2026. However, it was close to the $2.07 billion recorded in July last year.

Loans to Overseas Companies Double

Loans given to overseas subsidiaries also increased during the month.

Indian companies provided $876 million in loans in July 2026, compared with $433 million a year earlier. Several Indian companies made large equity investments outside India during July.

The final numbers will depend on the reports received from banks. Outward FDI commitments include equity investments, loans and guarantees, and all three increased during July.
