The Reserve Bank of India has released the official list of bank holidays for June 2026. The schedule includes standard weekend closures along with additional holidays observed across various states.

These holidays are based on regional festivals and commemorative events. Customers are advised to plan their banking activities accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

Standard Weekend Bank Closures

Banks across India will remain closed on all Sundays in June 2026. In addition, the second and fourth Saturdays of the month will also be non-working days for banks.

These closures follow the standard banking calendar observed nationwide. Accordingly, June 13, 2026, and June 27, 2026, are designated as Saturday holidays across the country.

State-Specific Observances and Additional Holidays

Several states will observe additional local bank holidays towards the end of June 2026. June 29 will be observed as Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti in Shimla, Haryana, Punjab and Chhattisgarh, while banks in Aizawl will remain closed on June 30 for Remna Ni.

Muharram-related holidays will also affect banking operations, with Vijayawada observing a closure on June 25 and a wider shutdown across cities including Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad on June 26. States such as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya will otherwise follow only regular weekend bank closures during the month.

Regional Holidays Across States

In addition to weekends, several regional holidays will be observed in different states. On June 15, 2026, banks will remain closed in Aizawl for YMA Day and in Bhubaneswar for Raja Sankranti.

Haryana will observe a holiday on June 17, 2026, for Maharana Pratap Jayanti. Punjab will mark Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji’s Martyrdom Day on June 18, 2026, leading to bank closures in the state.

Availability Of Digital Banking Services

The revised capital gains framework is influencing broader investment behaviour within the real estate sector. Investors are showing increased interest in income-generating assets such as commercial properties and are gradually diversifying portfolios across multiple segments.

The changes have also reduced reliance on long-term holding strategies driven primarily by tax efficiency. Together, these trends point towards a more balanced and yield-focused approach to real estate investing.
