Quote currency

When we talk about currency pairs, we usually refer to the first currency as the base currency and the second currency as the quote currency. The quote currency is the one that a client can buy or sell in exchange for the base currency. For example, in the USD/JPY currency pair, the Japanese yen is the quote currency. This is a fundamental concept in the world of finance that helps us understand the relationship between different currencies and their values.
