Sensex is trading lower by 0.04%, however, Nifty saw an upswing of 0.07%. About 2,290 shares have advanced, 990 declined, and 169 are unchanged on the BSE.
The top Sensex gainers were Tata Steel Ltd, Tech Mahindra Ltd and JSW Steel Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Asian Paints Ltd, ITC Ltd and Titan Company Ltd.
The BSE Metal Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE FMCG Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Metal Index soared 1.8%, led by NMDC Ltd and Hindalco Ltd while the BSE FMCG Index was down 0.3% dragged down by Jyothy Labs Ltd and Colgate-Palmolive India Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading on a positive note, with the BSE Mid-cap index up by 0.60% and the BSE Small-cap index soaring by 1.17%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were NMDC Ltd and Oil India Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Company Ltd and Kalyani Steels Ltd.
