Bengaluru City Police has rolled out a technology-driven safety initiative in collaboration with cab aggregators Uber and Ola to strengthen emergency response mechanisms across the city, as per news reports.

Emergency Response Integration

Under the initiative, emergency call facilities have been embedded directly within the Uber and Ola mobile applications. Riders and drivers can now seek immediate police assistance from within the app during an active trip.

Once triggered, the system enables real-time sharing of location details, trip information and user contact data with the Bengaluru City Police’s 112 emergency response infrastructure. This allows authorities to access critical information instantly without manual intervention.

Safety and Enforcement Impact

As per news report, the seamless data flow helps reduce response times and improves coordination during emergencies. Faster access to verified location and trip details is expected to enable quicker deployment of first responders and timely assistance.

The collaboration reflects the police department’s effort to leverage technology partnerships to enhance urban mobility safety and public protection.
