Rapido’s Ownly Plans Multi-City Expansion as it Crosses 50,000 Daily Orders

Rapido's food delivery platform Ownly is processing more than 50,000 orders a day in Bengaluru, around five months after it was launched in the city, as per a Moneycontrol report. The platform was handling about 40,000 daily orders in July 2026.
With Bengaluru estimated to see 500,000-600,000 food delivery orders a day, Ownly now accounts for roughly 10% of the market. Swiggy and Zomato continue to handle the bulk of these orders.
Empire's Daily Orders Increase
Empire, a Bengaluru-based restaurant chain, joined Ownly in March. It received an average of 136 orders a day through the platform during its first month.
The number rose to 398 in April and 685 in May. It crossed 1,100 orders a day in June and had exceeded 1,700 by July, according to Empire Group CEO Shakir Haq.
The increase has added another source of delivery orders for the restaurant chain alongside existing platforms.
Rapido Prepares City Expansion
Following its Bengaluru launch, Rapido is preparing to introduce Ownly in multiple cities over the coming weeks. The platform follows a zero-commission model for restaurants.
Instead of charging restaurants a commission on each order, Ownly allows them to keep menu prices closer to their offline rates. Customers pay a delivery fee separately.
More Competition in Food Delivery
The food delivery market is seeing fresh competition after Swiggy and Zomato spent the past two years focusing more on profitability. Both companies have also used their food delivery operations to support expansion into quick commerce.
Flipkart is working on an ONDC-powered food delivery service in Bengaluru, as per the report. Swiggy is expanding Toing, while Zomato is offering lower-priced meals through Bistro.
Swiggy and Zomato Remain Ahead
Ownly's Bengaluru volumes remain small compared with the national order numbers of the two larger platforms. Zomato fulfils more than 2.5 million food orders a day across India.
Swiggy processes around 2-2.2 million orders daily. Rapido is now preparing to expand Ownly beyond Bengaluru following the increase in order volumes.
