Share Market Pre Open Updates – March 01, 2024

On February 29, 2024, the Nifty 50 increased by 0.14% to 22,982, and the Sensex rose by 0.27% to 72,500. The market was mostly stable but surged in the last trading hours. Foreign Institutional Investors bought shares worth ₹3,568 crores, while Domestic Institutional Investors sold shares worth ₹230 crores.
Top Gainers and Losers
Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Metal, Nifty Financial Services 25/50, and Nifty Bank sectors saw gains, while Nifty Media, Nifty Healthcare, and Nifty IT sectors fell. The top gainers were Berger Paints, Bajaj Holdings, Zomato, and Shriram Finance, and the top losers were Apollo Hospitals, Bajaj Auto, LTI Mindtree, and Eicher Motors.

NBCC and Coal India were in the news on February 29, 2024.
- NBCC has received an order worth ₹459 crores from the Maharashtra Government. Following this news, NBCC share price saw an increase of almost 3%, closing at ₹135.
- Coal India has signed a Joint Venture Agreement with BHEL. As a result of this news, Coal India’s share price increased by 1%, closing at ₹438.
