Tata Chemicals Share Price Falls Over 2% After Q1 FY27 Earnings Results: Total Income Up 13% YoY

On July 27, 2026, Tata Chemicals Limited has reported its consolidated financial results for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, as per the exchange filings.
The company experienced a rise in total income but faced a decline in net profit compared to the same period last year.
Tata Chemicals Q1 FY27 Earnings Results
For the quarter ending June 30, 2026, Tata Chemicals' total income increased by 13% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹4,311 crore, up from ₹3,815 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The total income also rose by 23.8% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) from ₹3,482 crore in the March 2026 quarter.
Despite the increase in total income, Tata Chemicals reported a significant decline in its net profit. The net profit for the June 2026 quarter decreased by 81% YoY to ₹60 crore, compared to ₹316 crore in the same quarter last year.
This comes after the company reported a net loss of ₹2,116 crore in the March 2026 quarter.
Annual Financial Performance
For the financial year 2026, Tata Chemicals' total income stood at ₹14,900 crore. However, the company recorded a net loss of ₹1,715 crore for the year.
Volume Growth Drives Top-line Surge Amid External Pressures
Tata Chemicals Limited declared its financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, delivering a resilient performance in a demanding macroeconomic landscape.
The company registered consolidated revenue from operations at ₹4,255 Crores, marking a solid 14% increase compared to Q1 FY26.
This top-line expansion was primarily propelled by higher sales and manufacturing volumes, which successfully offset lower realisations caused by a volatile external pricing environment.
Overseas Margin Compressions Impact Consolidated Earnings
Despite steady domestic business execution, global oversupply conditions and weak demand weighed down the firm's overall profitability. Consolidated EBITDA came in at ₹555 Crores, contracting from the ₹649 Crores posted in the corresponding previous quarter.
This compression was heavily influenced by unremunerative soda ash pricing in overseas subsidiaries, particularly affecting US exports heading into South-East Asian markets.
Consequently, consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) settled at ₹60 Crores, down from ₹316 Crores in Q1 FY26, additionally impacted by compressed other income and lower joint venture earnings.
Strong Standalone Turnaround and Strategic Transformation
In sharp contrast to global segments, the company’s standalone operations showcased powerful momentum.
Standalone revenue reached ₹1,281 Crores, up 10% YoY, while standalone EBITDA surged by 35% to touch ₹364 Crores due to higher localized realisations.
Standalone Profit After Tax from continuing operations rose 12% to land at ₹343 Crores.
"The company delivered a resilient performance supported by strong operating efficiencies and disciplined cost management," stated R. Mukundan, Managing Director & CEO.
He emphasized that the company is actively reshaping its portfolio toward non-cyclical, sustainability-led business segments via its core LIFE (Living, Industrial, Farm Essentials) corporate strategy.
Tata Chemicals Share Price Performance
As of July 28, 2026, at 11:06 AM, Tata Chemicals share price on NSE was trading at ₹680.30, down by 2.66% from the previous closing price.
Conclusion
Tata Chemicals' total income for the June 2026 quarter rose to ₹4,311 crore, a 13% YoY increase, while net profit fell 81% YoY to ₹60 crore. For FY26, total income was ₹14,900 crore, with a net loss of ₹1,715 crore.
