Prestige Estates Share Price Surges Over 3%; CPP Investments to Acquire 27% Stake in Hospitality Arm

Prestige Estates Projects Ltd has announced a ₹30 billion investment by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) in its hospitality platform, Prestige Hospitality Ventures Ltd (PHVL).
As per an exchange filing dated September 29, 2026, the investment will give CPP Investments an approximately 27% stake in the company.
First Direct Hospitality Investment
The transaction marks CPP Investments’ first direct investment in India’s hospitality sector. The investment organisation said the deal adds to its hospitality exposure in the Asia Pacific region, where it has also invested in Japan and South Korea.
CPP Investments will invest ₹30 billion, equivalent to C$441 million. Most of the capital will be used by PHVL for its expansion, according to the announcement.
Hotels Across Six Cities
PHVL owns luxury and premium hotels in several major Indian cities. Its development pipeline currently covers Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.
The hospitality business forms part of Prestige Group, whose operations also include residential, commercial, retail and integrated township projects. The group has a presence across major Indian cities.
Prestige Group’s Project Pipeline
As of June 2026, Prestige Group had completed 319 projects covering 216 million sq. ft. The company had another 137 projects in its pipeline, covering 229 million sq. ft.
The latest investment is focused specifically on the hospitality platform rather than the wider Prestige Group business. The company said the capital would support the continued expansion of PHVL.
CPP Investments Fund Size
CPP Investments manages the Canada Pension Plan Fund on behalf of more than 22 million contributors and beneficiaries. Its portfolio includes public and private equities, real estate, infrastructure, fixed income, and alternative investments.
As of June 30, 2026, the fund had total assets of C$863.6 billion. CPP Investments has offices in Mumbai, Toronto, Hong Kong, London, New York City, São Paulo and Sydney.

Prestige Estates Projects Share Price Performance
As of September 30, 2026, 12:10 pm, Prestige Estates Projects share price was trading at ₹1,461.20, a 3.08% increase from the previous closing price.
Conclusion
The transaction will result in CPP Investments holding about 27% of Prestige’s hospitality arm. The ₹3,000 crore investment is largely intended to fund PHVL’s expansion across its planned hotel markets.
