
On July 27, 2026, Canara Bank released its consolidated financial results for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, as per the exchange filings.
The bank reported a total income of ₹39,695.71 crore and net profit of ₹4,864.08 crore for the quarter ending June 30, 2026.
In the June 2026 quarter, Canara Bank reported a decrease in total income by 4.2% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹39,695.71 crore, compared to ₹41,441.51 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.
However, the total income showed an increase of 8.6% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) from ₹36,538.61 crore in the March 2026 quarter.
In the June 2026 quarter, The Bank's net profit rose by 62% YoY to ₹4,864.08 crore, up from ₹3,003.18 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The net profit also saw an increase of 11% QoQ from ₹4,380.78 crore in the March 2026 quarter.
For the financial year 2026, Canara Bank's total income stood at ₹1,53,083.22 crore. The net profit for the same period was recorded at ₹17,118.20 crore.
Canara Bank has registered a stellar 14.37% year-on-year growth in its total global business, reaching ₹29,05,066 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. This expansion was supported by a balanced performance across deposits and credit operations.
Total global deposits increased by 11.63% to ₹16,11,685 crore, while global gross advances surged by 17.97% to hit ₹12,93,381 crore.
The bank's domestic lending momentum was heavily driven by the Retail, Agriculture, and MSME (RAM) credit segment, which grew by 21.20% year-on-year to ₹7,64,675 crore.
The retail lending portfolio alone witnessed a substantial 35.88% jump, closing at ₹3,19,893 crore. Under retail, housing loans grew by 17.85% to ₹1,29,036 crore, and vehicle loans registered a robust growth of 26.34%.
Canara Bank achieved an impressive improvement in its asset quality profile, sharply reducing its non-performing assets. The Gross NPA ratio dropped significantly by 112 basis points year-on-year to settle at 1.57%.
Similarly, the Net NPA ratio improved by 27 basis points to reach a low of 0.36%. The bank also strengthened its financial cushion, improving its Provision Coverage Ratio (PCR) by 159 basis points to a highly secure 94.76%.
The lender sustained its profitability trajectory, posting an operating profit of ₹8,636 crore, which represents a 0.96% increase over the previous year.
The bank's quarterly Net Profit grew 62% YoY year-on-year to reach ₹4,864.08 crore. Non-interest income streams also supported core earnings, with total fee-based income rising by 5.35% to stand at ₹2,342 crore.
The institution maintained a resilient balance sheet, reporting a total Capital to Risk-Weighted Assets Ratio (CRAR) of 17.17%. This capital buffer includes a Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) ratio of 12.91%, a Tier-I ratio of 2.09%, and a Tier-II ratio of 2.17%.
This financial strength backs an extensive physical distribution network comprising 10,131 branches across India and 4 overseas branches located in London, New York, Dubai, and Gift City.
