Top Gainers of the Day: Apollo Hospitals, SBI, HDFC Life, and TCS Lead the Way

The benchmark equity indices, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, fell from yesterday’s closing levels, dropping more than 1% each as investors awaited the US Federal Reserve’s decision on its monetary policy rate later today. This announcement will be Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s first since media reports claimed former President Donald Trump won the 47th presidential election.
At the close, the BSE Sensex dropped 836.34 points, or 1.04%, to 79,541.79, while the Nifty 50 fell by 284.67 points, or 1.16%, to 24,199.35.

- Apollo Hospitals Enterprise
Apollo Hospitals Enterprise share price closed at ₹7,409.95, reflecting a 6.34% rise. The stock reached a new all-time high of ₹7,483.90 in today’s trading, surpassing its previous peak of ₹7,316.95 on September 30 this year. For the second quarter, consolidated revenue grew by 15% year-on-year, reaching ₹5,589 crore, while net profit jumped 63% to ₹378 crore. Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA) also rose by 15% from last year, totalling ₹815 crore.

State Bank of India share price closed at ₹858.35, reflecting a 0.42% rise. The stock increased by almost 1% to ₹862.45, reaching their highest level in over three months during Thursday’s intra-day trading, despite a generally weak market, as investors awaited the bank’s financial results for the second quarter ending September 2024 (Q2FY25).
