Deepinder Goyal’s 'Continue' Unveils $25 Million Fund for Human Ageing Research

In a move that blends philanthropy with scientific curiosity, Zomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal has unveiled a $25 million research fund, fully financed from his personal wealth, to support pioneering studies on human ageing.
Announced via X, the initiative called Continue Research expands on his 2-year-old project, Continue, which aims to explore simpler biological questions that could transform how humans understand and manage ageing.
Funding Model and Research Goals
The $25 million Continue Research Fund will provide 2 categories of grants:
- Moonshots: between $50,000 and $250,000 for high-risk, early-stage ideas.
- Deep Dives: between $250,000 and $2 million for studies testing key hypotheses over one to three years.
Every funded project must make its findings, including raw data, protocols, and failed experiments, open source and publicly accessible. The initiative will not demand prior publications or impose bureaucratic oversight, focusing instead on scientific curiosity and transparency.
As per the press release, Goyal emphasised that Continue is neither a company nor a startup but a research team and seed fund for the next phase of human existence. He added that its goal is to defeat short-termism.
Vision and Philosophy
Goyal’s philosophy goes beyond biology. He connects ageing research with societal responsibility, arguing that humanity’s short lifespans lead to reckless decision-making from climate change to underinvestment in education and research.
