UTI Asset Management Company (UTI AMC) announced that it will update the trading symbols of select exchange-traded funds (ETFs) listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), effective December 24.

New Naming Convention

Under the new format, ETF symbols will combine the underlying index name with the suffix “BETA” on both exchanges. For instance, the UTI Nifty 50 ETF will now trade as NIFTYBETA, replacing its earlier symbol UTINIFTETF.

UTI AMC said the revised nomenclature aims to enhance visibility, consistency, and investor convenience. The uniform symbols will make it easier for investors and market participants to identify ETFs and understand the assets they track.

Funds Affected

The update applies to a range of UTI AMC’s equity, debt, and commodity ETFs listed on NSE and BSE. This includes ETFs tracking benchmark equity indices like Nifty 50, Sensex, Nifty Bank, and Nifty IT, as well as funds investing in government securities, gold, and silver.

Impact on Investors

UTI AMC clarified that the changes are limited to trading symbols only. The investment objectives, portfolio composition, methodology, and other fundamental features of the ETFs remain unchanged. Existing investors do not need to take any action.

Key Revised Symbols

  • UTI BSE Sensex ETF → SENSEXBETA
  • UTI Nifty Next 50 ETF → NEXT50BETA
  • UTI Nifty Bank ETF → BANKBETA
  • UTI Gold ETF → GOLDBETA
  • UTI Silver ETF → SILVERBETA
