Air India Extends Maharaja Club Rewards to Everyday Purchases Through New Shopping Platform

Air India has launched The Maharaja Shop, an online marketplace where members of its Maharaja Club frequent flyer programme can earn points on purchases.
Announced on November 5, 2026, the platform allows members to collect Maharaja Points when shopping for products from Indian and international brands. The points earned can be used towards Award Flights and Cabin Upgrades on Air India.
The platform covers electronics, luggage, travel accessories, fragrances, home essentials, wellness products, watches and jewellery. Complimentary shipping is available on eligible orders.
Exclusive Air India Merchandise
The Maharaja Shop also sells an exclusive collection of Air India merchandise. The products include Maharaja magnets, collectibles, aircraft-inspired keychains, lapel pins, postcards, coasters and travel accessories.
The collection is available only through the marketplace. Members can earn Maharaja Points on eligible purchases from this range as well.
Where Can Members Use Maharaja Points?
Maharaja Club members can earn points through Air India, Air India Express and more than 100 partners across airlines, hospitality, retail, lifestyle and financial services.
The accumulated points can be redeemed for flights on Air India and Air India Express, as well as 25 Star Alliance partner airlines. The programme also provides tier-based privileges and access to more than 1,100 airport lounges worldwide.
Commenting on the launch, Sunil Suresh, Head of Loyalty, E-commerce and Marketing at Air India, said the Maharaja Club programme was being extended beyond travel, with everyday purchases providing another way for members to earn rewards.
Who Can Use the Maharaja Shop?
The marketplace is available exclusively to Maharaja Club members. Customers who are not enrolled can sign up for the programme to earn points on eligible purchases.
Air India has not disclosed the points earning rate for individual products or the spending required to accumulate enough points for a particular flight or upgrade.
What Members Should Know?
The value of points earned through shopping will depend on the purchase amount, applicable earning rates and redemption requirements. Members will also need to compare the rewards with discounts, cashback and credit card benefits available on other platforms.
The launch adds retail purchases to the existing Maharaja Club earning channels, allowing members to accumulate points between trips.
