Equity mutual funds witnessed mixed performance over the past year, with only a limited number of schemes managing to deliver double-digit returns amid volatile market conditions.
According to an ETMutualFunds report, an analysis of 284 equity mutual fund schemes revealed that 12 funds delivered returns exceeding 10% over the past one year.
The analysis highlighted that 12 equity mutual fund schemes delivered returns exceeding 10% over the last year. Small cap and midcap funds were among the most represented categories in the list.
| Fund Name | Category | 1-Year Return |
| TRUSTMF Small Cap Fund | Small Cap Fund | 19.24% |
| ICICI Prudential Midcap Fund | Midcap Fund | 17.78% |
| HSBC Midcap Fund | Midcap Fund | 16.05% |
| Union Small Cap Fund | Small Cap Fund | 14.98% |
| Helios Mid Cap Fund | Midcap Fund | 12.82% |
| Quant Value Fund | Value Fund | 12.52% |
Midcap and small cap schemes formed the majority of funds that generated returns above 10% over the past year.
The data suggests that funds focused on broader growth-oriented segments of the market continued to attract investor attention despite market fluctuations during the period.
Apart from midcap and small cap schemes, a few value-oriented and focused equity funds also delivered double-digit returns.
While 12 schemes generated returns above 10%, the broader mutual fund landscape reflected mixed trends. The remaining 272 equity mutual fund schemes recorded returns ranging between negative 11.51% and positive 9.86%.
Among these schemes, 134 funds delivered positive returns, whereas 138 funds ended the period with negative returns. This divergence highlights the varying impact of market conditions across investment styles and market capitalisation categories.
