Sensex Slips Below 74,600 Mark in Intraday Trade on September 15, 2026

The BSE Sensex opened the September 15, 2026, session with a positive bias and registered an intraday high of 75,436.44 soon after opening. The index later touched an intraday low of 74,583.55. 

BSE Sensex Performance on September 15, 2026 

The BSE Sensex opened above its previous close at the 75,369.63 level and registered an intraday high of 75,436.44. As the session progressed, continuous selling pressure emerged, dragging the index down by over 190 points from its previous close to touch an intraday low of 74,583.55.  

At 12:03 PM, the index was trading at 74,709.91, down by 71.85 points or 0.10% on September 15, 2026. 

Advance Decline Ratio of BSE Sensex 

The market breadth of BSE Sensex remained weak during the afternoon session on September 15, 2026, as buying interest was highly selective, leaving only 9 constituents in the green, while key heavyweights across the banking and auto sectors faced notable selling pressure and the remaining 21 stocks traded in the red. 

Top Gainers and Losers of BSE Sensex on September 15, 2026 

The market index recorded mixed movements across its major constituents during the session. Among the gainers, HCL Technologies (HCLTECH) led the positive traction with a Last Traded Price (LTP) of 1,279.35, gaining 72.35 points (+5.99%).  

It was followed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which rose by 109.1 points (+4.95%) to an LTP of 2,311.1.  

Tech Mahindra (TECHM) maintained a strong positive bias, trading at an LTP of 1,603.5 with a value increase of 64 points (+4.16%). Infosys (INFY) rounded out the top gainers at an LTP of 1,080.75, ticking up by 42.55 points (+4.1%). 

Conversely, severe selling pressure was observed among the top losers evaluated strictly by percentage drop from the data sheet. Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) dropped the sharpest in percentage terms, falling by 14.35 points (-3.54%) to an LTP of 391.15.  

Titan Company (TITAN) also faced notable corrections, shedding 109.95 points (-2.2%) to reach an LTP of 4,895.05.  

Bajaj Finserv (BAJAJFINSV) lost value, decreasing by 37.6 points (-1.96%) to trade at an LTP of 1,879.7, while InterGlobe Aviation (INDIGO) slid by 96.35 points (-1.94%) to cross an LTP of 4,877.65.

Conclusion 

On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the BSE Sensex traded with minor losses of 0.10% by afternoon. Despite major recovery attempts by top IT constituents like HCL Technologies and TCS, the overall market sentiment remained weak, heavily weighted down by top cement and financial constituents.
