As per recent data from Bloomberg Billionaires Index shows a sharp decline in the notional wealth of India’s top 5 billionaires during 2026, contrasted with a stable position for Gautam Adani. 

Wealth Decline for Mukesh Ambani and 4 other Indian Billionaires 

Mukesh Ambani’s net worth fell to $97.7 billion after a 10.32% drop in Reliance Industries share price year to date. The loss amounts to $10 billion, making him the largest single decliner.  

Azim Premji and Shiv Nadar together lost $6.8 billion as Wipro and HCL Technologies shares fell up to 21 % amid concerns over AI disruption. 

Shapoor Mistry’s wealth dropped $2.32 billion to $32.9 billion, while Sunil Mittal saw a $1.4 billion reduction, leaving him with $28.3 billion after Bharti Airtel shares fell 6 % year to date. 

Gautam Adani’s Wealth Remains Largely Unchanged 

Gautam Adani’s net worth stood at $84.6 billion, up $122 million year to date. Gains in Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone and Adani Power offset declines in Adani EnterprisesAdani Green EnergyACC and Ambuja Cements. 

Other Notable Changes Among Indian Billionaires 

Lakshmi Mittal recorded the only increase among the 24 billionaires, with his wealth rising $7.32 billion to $38.9 billion. No other billionaire listed showed a comparable gain.
