Closing Bell: Nifty 50 and Sensex Ended Higher, Banking and IT Sector Shine

On October 14, 2024, the Indian equity indices closed in green. Nifty 50 was up 0.66% and settled at 25,127.95 while Sensex closed up 0.73% to 81,973.05. Nifty Bank was up 1.26% to 51,816.90, and Nifty 500 was up 0.49% to 23,727.05. The volatility indicator Nifty VIX was down by 1.70% to 13.00, reflecting a fall in volatility.
Sectoral Performance
On October 14, most of the sectors were in green. Nifty Realty, Nifty, IT, Nifty Bank, and Nifty Private Bank were the most gaining sectors with a rise of 1.61%, 1.27%, 1.26% and 1.07%, respectively. Nifty Media, Nifty Metal and Nifty Oil & Gas closed with a fall of 1%, 0.28% and 0.14%, respectively.
Top Gainer and Losers
Wipro, Tech Mahindra, HDFC Life, HDFC Bank, and L&T were the top gainers for the day, while ONGC, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance, and Adani Enterprises were the top losers on the NSE.
Oil Prices
On October 14, 2024, at 04:07 PM, Brent Crude stood at $77.10, reflecting a fall of 2.45%.
