In August 2026, mutual funds poured a substantial ₹8,883.68 crore into 18 initial public offerings (IPOs), as per The Economic Times report citing the monthly data released by Prime Database.  

This diversified investment included notable companies such as ESDS Software Solution, Molbio Diagnostics, and others, enhancing their asset portfolios. 

Notable Investments in Dhoot Transmission and Shiprocket 

Mutual funds invested ₹3,303 crore in the Dhoot Transmission IPO, resulting in a holding of 2.24 crore shares. The Shiprocket IPO also drew attention with ₹1,196 crore invested and funds holding 8.61 crore shares. 

Investments in Dairy and Diagnostics 

The Milky Mist Dairy Food IPO attracted ₹928 crore, with mutual funds holding 4.40 crore shares. In the healthcare sector, Molbio Diagnostics received ₹673 crore, translating into 62.03 lakh shares held by funds. 

Additional Diversified Investments 

Investment in Horizon Industrial Parks was ₹425 crore, comprising 7.48 crore shares, while Lalithaa Jewellery Mart secured ₹402 crore with holdings of 1.56 crore shares.  

Symbiotec Pharmalab and Leap India also garnered attention with investments of ₹350 crore and ₹307 crore, respectively. Symbiotec Pharmalab holdings stood at 35.42 lakh shares, while Leap India's holdings were 1.83 crore shares.

Investments in Emerging Companies 

Emerging businesses like Tempsens Instruments (India) and Gaja Alternative Asset Management benefited from ₹286 crore and ₹274 crore investments, respectively. The funds held 50.80 lakh shares in Tempsens Instruments and 1.81 crore shares in Gaja Alternative Asset Management. 

Lesser but Notable Investments 

Further investments included ₹170 crore in Augmont Enterprises and ₹140 crore in Lumino Industries 

ESDS Software Solution received ₹129 crore, equating to 30.06 lakh shares in mutual funds' portfolios. Purple Style Labs attracted investments worth ₹100 crore, holding 17.39 lakh shares. 

Notably, ₹76 crore in Skyways Air Services (holding 55.70 lakh shares) and ₹74 crore in Behari Lal Engineering (holding 16.98 lakh shares).  

Additionally, fund managers deployed ₹27 crore into Ardee Industries and ₹14 crore into Hy-Tech Engineers, securing portfolio positions of 47.17 lakh shares and 27.76 lakh shares, respectively. 

Conclusion 

In August 2026, mutual funds invested ₹8,883.68 crore across 18 IPOs. Significant investments were made in Dhoot Transmission and Shiprocket with ₹3,303 crore and ₹1,196 crore, respectively. Other included sectors were dairy, diagnostics, industrial parks, and emerging companies.
