The second Pax Silica Summit in Washington witnessed the signing of the Joint Statement on AI Opportunity by representatives from 35 nations. This agreement represents a commitment to developing trusted and resilient supply chains for powering AI technologies, as stated by Jacob Helberg, the US Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, as per The PTI news report. 

Nations Unite for AI Growth 

During the summit held on June 25, 2026, 35 countries, including India, Argentina, Germany, and the Netherlands, aligned behind the US initiative to bolster AI through trusted supply chains. The focus lies on accelerating innovation and capacity building in AI technologies, with private sector mobilisation and robust infrastructure highlighted as key components for future advancement. 

India's Role in the Summit 

India's participation was marked by delegates S Krishnan from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Nagraj Naidu from the Ministry of External Affairs, and industry leaders. They sought collaboration with other nations on semiconductors, resilient technology supply chains, and AI development. The summit underscored India joining the Pax Silica Initiative in February at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi. 

Pro-Innovation Regulatory Approach 

The Joint Statement on AI Opportunity emphasises a regulatory framework that nurtures pro-growth and pro-innovation practices. Jacob Helberg noted the significance of building capacities in energy, compute power, chips, and talent to drive the AI sector. The collaborative effort aims to stimulate entrepreneurship and innovation while adhering to the rule of law.
