Around 60 lakh first-time employees have come under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), according to PTI news reports.
The scheme, introduced under the Centre's Employment-Linked Incentive (ELI) programme, has been operational since August 1, 2025, and will remain in force until July 31, 2027.
EPFO data shows that nearly 43.26 lakh beneficiaries belong to the 18-30 age group, accounting for around 71% of all first-time employees covered under the scheme.
Part A of PM-VBRY is for supporting young workers entering formal employment for the first time through financial incentives linked to continued service.
More than 18.04 lakh women have registered under the scheme since its launch. They account for close to 30% of the total first-time employees enrolled so far.
The figures indicate that women have made up a significant share of new formal workforce additions covered by the programme.
Eligible employees will receive the first instalment of up to ₹7,500 after completing 6 months in their first job.
A second instalment will be credited after completing 12 months of employment and the prescribed financial literacy programme. The scheme is being implemented by the Ministry of Labour and Employment through EPFO.
